I’ve spent 30+ years building world-class brands. Now, I help designers build themselves.
Throughout my career in corporations, studios, and as the founder of two agencies, I’ve led award-winning work for clients like Warner Brothers, DC Comics, and the Royal Canadian Mint. I also served as the architect of the Farm Boy brand. My experience spans roles as a former VP of the R.G.D., adjunct professor, and frequent speaker at events like Design Thinkers.
Beyond the highlights, the story of my career features doubt, pressure, late nights, and sometimes feeling that I didn't quite belong. Today, my focus is on coaching, workshops, and education for designers at every stage of their careers. I don’t just teach design; I teach you how to survive the industry because I’ve done it myself. If you want a sharper creative edge and a clearer sense of who you are as a designer, I’m here to help.

Robert was very accommodating, encouraging, and most of all positive. He addressed my imposter syndrome and allowed me to be aware that I do have versatile design skills. I believe that the "homework" on myself and work that he advised I do will definitely spark results. As a mentor, Robert is phenomenal!
Fiona McBean
Graphic Designer
Robert shares great insights and ideas on design portfolios, storytelling in résumés, creative career paths, and soft skills a creative can invest in. He's generous with his knowledge and shares it openly. He helped me when I was at a crossroads in my creative journey and helped me understand my creative path. Thank you Robert!

Art Director
If I had to pick one person to speak with in order to up my creative game, it would be Robert (and I've spoken with quite a number of mentors). He's mastered the craftsman mindset and can give you very clear executional tips and techniques to deliver better work. I'm so thankful I found Robert. He's grounded, kind, and a great listener.
